Jennifer graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. Course Description:
This course summarizes the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP) research findings on LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) and HIV-affected intimate partner violence (IPV). The NCAVP works to prevent, respond to, and end all forms of violence against and within LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the movement that sparked the research and literature on interpersonal violence (IPV)
  2. List the marginalized populations most affected by IPV
  3. Recite the types of tactics abusers use on LGBTQ and HIV-affected IPV survivors
  4. Explain why there is mistrust between the LGBTQ community and law enforcement
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of resources available (and lack thereof) to the LGBTQ and HIV-affected community
  6. Describe barriers to accessible services that the LGBTQ and HIV-affected community face

Course Completion Requirements: All course materials are included in your AATBS student account. Attendees must read the course material and complete the accompanying test with a score of 75% or higher. Customers may retest if they score below 75%.

Evaluation: The course evaluation is also accessible in your student account. After completing the course, you will need to complete the course evaluation.

How certificate is issued: When all requirements for the course have been successfully completed, customers will be able to access and print a personal CE certificate in their student account.
