Course Description: This course presents research from the 2014 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), an annual survey sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The survey is the primary source of information on the use of illicit drugs, alcohol, and tobacco in the civilian, noninstitutionalized population of the United States aged 12 years old and older.

Learning Objectives:

  • To delineate findings on the use of illicit drugs across various age groups
  • To compare the research findings on illicit drug use in 2014 to previous years
  • To compare the research on individuals who have had mental illness to those who have engaged in illicit substance use
  • To evaluate the research on the prevalence and patterns of substance use disorders

Course Format: Course materials can be downloaded or read online. To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete a multiple-choice post-test with a score of 75% or better and complete a course evaluation.
