Course Description: Extensive research illustrates socioeconomic status is pivotal in neighborhood functioning. The purpose of the article is to develop and assess the triple neighborhood disadvantage concept related to violence. The researchers developed a new theoretical model to understand spatial inequality in the U.S. The researchers utilized geotagging to identify the relationship between neighborhood (dis) advantage and vitality. The researchers also expanded their research using the Washington Post and municipals to locate homicide data. Researchers found a 99-1 gap of .42 between low levels and very high levels of residential disadvantages, with triply neighborhood disadvantage (TND) being a significant contributor. Qualified professionals benefit from this study as it allows them to identify more closely at-risk clients residing in disadvantaged neighborhood networks.
